About This Practice

Aspire's Uptown Houston office is at 4801 Woodway Dr, Suite 120-E, in Houston. According to the practice, it serves Houston and nearby areas such as Hunters Creek Village, West Oaks, Tanglewood and River Oaks. Its website lists Katie Larson (PA-C) and Laura Funk (PA-C) at this office. Aspire describes ExACT Immunoplasty℠ as a form of intralymphatic immunotherapy: small amounts of allergen go into the inguinal lymph node, in the groin, under ultrasound guidance, three times over eight weeks. The practice says each procedure takes about 5 to 10 minutes, followed by a 60 minute observation period, and that up to three allergens can be included in each treatment series. The first step is an allergy test, which Aspire says covers up to 58 allergens with results the same day. If ExACT is a fit, the first treatment can be scheduled that same day. Patients need an epinephrine auto injector on treatment days, and anyone taking a beta blocker must have their doctor pause it for at least 24 hours before each treatment. Aspire also lists allergy drops, allergy shots, food allergy testing, oral immunotherapy for food allergies and sinus care among its services.

Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have been referred to Aspire Allergy by the VA. Ms. Okere and her team are the absolute best of professionals in the field of allergies. She precisely pointed my very rare allergy, I’ve been dealing with for over two 1/2 years. In over two years, I’ve had over 25 emergency room visits, 7 ambulance rides. All the doctors were treating my symptoms but not the source and calling out the allergy. I’ve seen 2 other allergists, they said I was allergic to the shellfish and dust mites (usual stuff). I had passed out a few times going to the ER, strangely enough with different symptoms from respiratory to abdominal pain, bloating and hives. The doctors treated the symptoms but not the allergy. Aspire Allergy, in two visits got it right, my family and I are so grateful for their help. Their staff are patient and personable, they give us their time and encouragement. Now, with the correct diagnosis, I have a target to manage and a strategy toward a comfortable life.
