AllerPoint offers intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT) in the Richmond area, with clinic days by appointment at its Henrico office. According to its website, board certified allergist Dr. Jaimin H. AllerPoint says it was among the first practices in the Mid-Atlantic to offer ILIT, and its site notes coverage by CBS 6 News.

About This Practice

Richmond is one of the toughest places in the country for allergies. It ranked #14 of the 100 largest U.S. metro areas in the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's 2026 Allergy Capitals report. AllerPoint's Henrico office offers Richmond area patients intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT), a much shorter course than traditional allergy shots. On the practice's website, Dr. Jaimin H. Patel calls ILIT one of the most exciting developments in his field, and AllerPoint describes itself as one of the few U.S. practices focused primarily on it. The site explains that small doses of allergen go into a superficial lymph node under ultrasound guidance, three times about a month apart. AllerPoint says visits usually take less than 15 minutes, followed by an hour of observation, and that many patients start to feel relief after the third injection. According to AllerPoint, ILIT there treats allergic rhinitis from tree, grass and weed pollen, dust mites, animal dander and mold, and Dr. Patel can use past skin testing to plan treatment. Clinic days in Henrico are by appointment. Dr. Jaimin H. Patel, DO Board certified allergist Fellowship in allergy and immunology, University of Virginia Internal medicine residency, Lehigh Valley Health Network DO, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Jaimin Patel is one of the kindest doctors I've ever met. He listens carefully and explains conditions and treatments thoroughly. He is also well versed on the latest allergy treatments, including intralymphatic immunotherapy. I am new to Virginia and could barely function due to allergies, so was willing to try anything, including intralymphatic immunotherapy. I had no improvement at first, but after the third injection, I felt noticeably better. Even though insurance doesn't cover the treatment, if I had had to pay insurance co-pays for five years for traditional allergy shots, the cost would have ended up being similar, and ILIT came with much quicker relief! Highly recommend!

Very rarely do I leave a review. Dr. Patel and team were so supportive through the years. Finally the intralymphatic immunotherapy worked for me. Slow build and then one day I noticed I felt better. Years of traditional immunotherapy helped some but this seemed to be what helped me the most and no more trips to the office. Dr. Patel is very invested in making his patience achieve success and very kind too. Can't say enough. Very happy patient here.
